Nutrition experts say there are several physical symptoms which can help you identify stress.
According to Charlotte Watts, the author of the book “The De-Stress Effect”, a body under stress will absorb nutrients faster, which in turn will make it less effective and tired.
Stress is often related to the lack of vitamins and minerals and can cause gum bleeding and white spots on the nails.
Different diets can help replace used nutrients, but reduced intake of sugar and less stress will make nutrients last longer and preserve them for the times when we need them the most.
Watts adds that every symptom of patients under stress is almost the same – it is usually a lack of vitamins.
The lack of vitamin B6 causes chapped lips, the lack of zinc causes white spots on the nails, while constipation and diarrhea are caused by the lack of magnesium. Gum bleeding means you lack vitamin C and spots on the legs are caused by the lack of vitamin E.
Furthermore, studies have shown that women who experienced stress caused by traumatic life events are more likely to be obese later in life.
The only positive effect of stress is that it protects the cells from aging and reduces the risk of degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer.
